I received an email confirmation today about my registration to the photo contest entitled “Makati: Capture It As It Happens.”
It’s a photo contest organized by Ayala Land, Makati Commercial Estate Association (MACEA) and Pinoy Photography. It has 5 categories and a participant can win as much as P75,000. That is if he’s VERY lucky to grab the 1st place in all 5 categories. These categories are:
- Artsy Makati
- Green Makati
- Party Makati
- Sporty Makati
- Techie Makati
The Grand Prize for each category is P15,000 followed by 1st Runner Up at P10,000 and 2nd Runner Up at P5,000. A participant can only submit 1 entry per category. Deadline of submission of entries would be on July 23, 2012.
This photo contest is open to all Filipinos and even foreigners who already stayed in the country for 3 months or more. Although the contest covers all of Makati City, the permit that they are sending through email covers only the following areas:
- Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue (from PNB Lot to Aegis People’s Support)
- Amorsolo Street (from Aegis People’s Support to Columns Legazpi Village)
- Arnaiz Avenue (from the Columns Legazpi Village to Dusit Hotel)
- EDSA (from Dusit Hotel to Hotel Intercon)
- Apartment Ridge Road (from Urdaneta Apartments to Zuellig)
- Paseo De Roxas (from Mandarin Hotel to PNB Lot)
The permit is only valid from July 2, 2012 to July 23, 2012 and you have to bring all the paperwork that they send through email and the downloadable forms from the website at all times.
Judging from all the information that I got from the website and the emails and attachments that they’ve sent me, it’s clear that this is a private initiative by Ayala Land and that the City Government of Makati has nothing to do with this.
I’ll probably maximize the permit that they gave me and shoot the areas I’ve mentioned above to my heart’s content this coming weekends. Anyone else joined this contest? Can we shoot together this coming July 13-15, 2012?
For more information, you may visit the websites of Pinoy Photography or Make It Makati.
