Amazing Time With Sef

Sef and I watched Spider-Man at Rockwell’s Power Plant Mall last Friday. The event was sponsored by Nuffnang Philippines and Energizer. It was a great movie and is very true to the comic version of Spider-Man.

IMG_4870

It was my second time at the Power Plant Mall and it’s as elegant as far as I remember. It was the perfect venue for the showing of Spider-Man although commuting to the venue from Guadalupe is quite difficult. I don’t have a car by the way. I’m just an average Pinoy commuter. Due to the traffic in Guadalupe, Sef was a few minutes late to the movie.

We enjoyed the movie and the goodies from Nuffnang Philippines and Energizer – pop corn, soft drinks and a bag of goodies. I love the Energizer flashlight that they’ve given away to Nuffnangers and our Plus One – a flashlight similar to those being used by The Amazing Race contestants. Yup, it’s the kind of flashlight that you wear on your head.

This remake of Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield is more faithful to the original comic book character. His web shooters are his creations unlike in the Tobie Maguire version. The poses and web-slinging style of Andrew Garfield were very similar to the comics as well as his spider-sense. The costume that Andrew Garfield wore is sexier than that of Tobie Maguire.

The story is also faithful to the comics except for the part wherein he reveals himself to Gwen Stacy’s father. I haven’t read that part in the comics as far as I can remember. Also the part wherein Spider-Man’s father is best friend with The Lizard is also something new for me. I guess it’s the reason why the movie’s tagline was “The Untold Story” since it reveals a lot of information about Spider-Man’s father.

After the credits, there is a short video that hints there is a sequel to the movie. I just don’t understand if The Lizard is speaking to the future-Hobgoblin. After all, it was revealed in the movie that The Lizard’s human boss is the future-Hobgoblin. Let’s just wait and see.

Thank you Sef for taking the time from your busy schedule to watch the Spider-Man movie with me. Thank you Nuffnang Philippines and Energizer for such a wonderful event.

We’ll Be Watching Spider-Man This Friday

I’ve won tickets for two to a special screening of The Amazing Spider-Man this Friday at the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell. Tickets are courtesy of Nuffnang Philippines and Energizer. I’ll be watching it with my movie buddy Sef.

I’m a big Spider-Man fan and I also love Andrew Garfield. Who’s going to the same event? Let’s meet and greet :)

Sef’s Guide On How To Start His Blog

Last Friday, when Sef and I watched “Snow White and the Huntsman”, I brought up (again) the topic of starting his own blog. My rationale was for him to avail movie tickets from Nuffnang Philippines simply by blogging about their latest promos.

start a new blog

Finally he said YES and he promised to post his pictures that are mostly about fashion. Here are my suggestions and general guidelines to him on how to create and start his own blog:

1. Create a Gmail account – Gmail account is the most useful email on the Internet right now. It’s fully integrated to Blogger, Google+, YouTube and other sites that are owned or associated with Google. Not to mention Google AdSense is part of their company and that it is compatible with email clients like Mozilla Thunderbird.

step 1 B

2. Create a Blogger account and publish a maiden post – I highly suggest the Blogger platform over Wordpress since it is more user-friendly in my opinion. Not to mention that Blogger doesn’t delete your blog even if it’s inactive for several months unlike Wordpress.

step 2 B

3. Download and install Windows Live Writer – It’s the best blog tool on the Internet right now. Windows Live Writer is part of the Windows Live Essentials that includes other software like Windows Live Messenger. You have the option to install only the Windows Live Writer.

step 3 B

4. Add your new blog to Windows Live Writer – Adding your blog to WLW is easy. Just select Blogger and then type in your Blogger/Gmail username and password and it would then download your blog’s theme for you.

step 4 B

5. Start Posting! – Don’t forget to compose your articles in Microsoft Word first. Their spelling and grammar correction tool are very useful. If you’re happy with your blog post or article, then copy it to Windows Live Writer. Put a “catchy” blog post title and click Publish.

step 5 b

6. Customize your blog layout – After publishing one or two blog post, it’s time to customize or accessorize your blog. Simply login to your Blogger account, click on your blog and click Layout. You would then see the layout of your blog and you can add items like Popular Posts, Blog’s Starts and HTML/JavaScript (this is very useful) by clicking on Add a Gadget and then drag it on where you want to place it on your blog.

step 6 b

7. Sign-up and add the codes from Nuffnang Philippines – For me, they are the best blog advertisement company these days. It’s not actually the revenue that you get from blogging itself that is great about them, but it’s the perks that they frequently gives out to Nuffnangers.

step 7 b

8. Add your Facebook, Twitter and Google+ accounts to your blog – If you’re a social networking addict, you might as well add your accounts to your blog so that your readers can follow your post more efficiently. Google is your best friend here on how to add this social networking sites to your blog.

Google-Plus-Facebook-Twitter1

9. Create Disqus account and submit your blog to LinkWithin – Disqus is the best software there is to manage your blog’s comments. Here are 9 reasons why you should use Disqus. LinkWithin on the other hand is the best way for readers to see your past post. LinkWithin would make sure that your previous posts will not go unnoticed.

step 9 b

10. Asked bloggers to Link Exchange with your new blog – If you are a reader of popular blogs, it would be great if you could ask them to Link Exchange with you. It’s a great way to advertise your blog. Also, try to make remarkable comments to other blogs or websites that uses Disqus or has the capability to display your blog through your signature.

I sure hope Sef would follow these steps that I learned the hard way in my almost-two-years of blogging. Other suggestions are welcome so please use the comments section. Happy blogging Sef!

Dinner With Sef At Pepper Lunch

I first heard about Pepper Lunch from chuvaness.com. I learned that they have a branch at Shangri-La Plaza Mall (which is the nearest mall to my place) and planned to taste their food the next time I visit the place.

Last Friday, I got two tickets to the movie “Snow White and the Huntsman” from Nuffnang Philippines and the venue was Shangri-La Cineplex which is on the same location as Pepper Lunch. So Sef and I had our dinner there. Yes it was Sef who accompanied me to the movie and not my boyfriend Glenn. I’ll explain soon.

Let’s get back to Pepper Lunch. The place was cozy and light and very conducive to eating. The foods that we ordered were great and tasted very good. I had the beef pepper rice while Sef ordered the chicken pepper rice. Everything is okay except for the price. It’s a bit pricey for a simple, call center guy like me.

The beef pepper rice cost P215.00 (no soda or iced tea included). I ordered a glass of Sprite and it cost P40. Other than the price, everything is okay with the restaurant. The good thing is, they have a current promo for students that will last until August. The bad thing is, I’m no longer a student.

The staffs were friendly and accommodating. Sef left his umbrella in Pepper Lunch and the male staff chased us all the way to the escalator to give back his umbrella. That’s very kind of their staff to do.

Just a short info on Pepper Lunch – they also have branches at Power Plant, (Rockwell Center), Alabang Town Center, Greenbelt 5, Robinsons Ermita, SM Mega Mall and SM Mall of Asia.

Pepper Lunch is a “fast-steak” restaurant concept that started in Japan in 1994. They opened their doors to us Filipinos in 2008.

Sef and Glenn

teddy_bear_i_love_you-1383

I’m so sorry for the lack of updates regarding my lovelife. I’m pretty sure you all wanted to know what happened between me and Sef and you’re probably curious about my new boyfriend named Glenn.

Let’s start with Sef. As you probably know, I’ve dated him for quite some time. We used to send each other emails and texted each other often. Somehow between the 6th and 7th date, he seems to become cold towards me. He no longer answers my email. He’s always busy with his job at the magazine (he’s the layout artist). I no longer felt that he’s interested with me in a romantic kind of way. Then he didn’t show up on the night of our departure to Baguio telling me all these reasons.

So I went to the Panagbenga Festival alone and enjoyed it as much as I can. When I returned from Baguio, I told him that I would stop courting him since I really don’t feel that he finds me a boyfriend-material. I look into his eyes and I see my reflection as a good friend, not lover.

Sef and I remained good friends even though I’ve already stopped courting him and started labeling our hang-outs as “gimmick” instead of “date”. The last time I saw him was during the showing of “The Hunger Games” at the Shang Cineplex. I’m one of the 60 Nuffnangers who joined the event and Sef was my “plus one”. It was purely a friendly “gimmick” and it’s nice to see him, gorgeous as ever, sporting a new haircut. He’s still not seeing someone and I haven’t heard him told me if someone is courting him. We ended the night at a coffee shop and catching up on each other’s lives. I ended up telling him about my boyfriend, Glenn.

I met Glenn in July 2011 (just last year). Back then, he was the boyfriend of my best friend forever (BFF) named Jereil. I got attracted to Glenn the first time I saw him. I immediately love his smile, laugh, voice and the way he carries himself. I find him gorgeous and sexy. Since Glenn was Jereil’s boyfriend at that time, I never made these feelings known to him.

I have talked to Glenn and texted him once in a while ever since that first meeting. I became the “crying shoulder” whenever they have their lover’s quarrel. They’re relationship ended sometime in February. I texted Glenn saying that I’ll court him as soon as he moved on from the breakup.

Glenn recovered easily from the breakup and when he confessed that he’s really over my BFF (now called his ex), I asked for a date. He said yes and we soon found happiness in each other’s arms the first date we had. My feelings for Glenn was revived the second time I saw him in person. He’s as gorgeous and sexy as I remembered him.

It was probably influenced by alcohol or something, but the moment I asked him to be my boyfriend, on our first date, he said yes and we sealed the commitment with a kiss. It was one of the best feelings in the world, to be in a relationship again.

Two days after, we made love and find joy in each other’s companion. We were really in love with each other. I felt that I’ve known him forever. The feeling that I have for Glenn is beyond words. I love to be with him for the rest of my life.

The story of Glenn and I have only just began.

The Hunger Games, Tonight!

I’m one of the lucky 60 Nuffnangers who won 2 movie tickets to “The Hunger Games”, which will be shown tonight at the Shang Cineplex.

Sef will accompany to this wonderful event. I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about this movie. I hope Sef and I will both enjoy it.

Just an update, I currently have a boyfriend right now and he is NOT Sef. I stopped courting Sef weeks ago. We’re still friends BTW. More on this story in the coming days.

“Cupcake” by Sef

Here are some of the pictures taken by Sef using my Canon EOS 1100D. I admire Sef’s photography. I’m encouraging him to make his own blog and share his magnificent pictures to the blog, not just his Facebook friends.

I sure hope to see Sef build his own blog, website and studio for his photography. I’m also hoping to cope up with his expertise when it comes to photography.

Summer is hotter with Banana Boat Sunscreen Lotion, Schick, & Nuffnang

My ideal Nuffnang summer is a trip to the Ilocos Region (Vigan, Laoag and Pagudpud) with no other than Sef. I love to travel, take pictures of old buildings and spend a day at the beach. This Ilocos Trip would surely combine beach life with photography.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Pagudpud picture courtesy of Lakwatsero.

Since there is no direct trip from Manila to Pagudpud, Sef and I will travel by bus to Vigan first. We’ll take pictures of this historic Spanish colonial town, hear mass at the Vigan Cathedral and visit various museums, old houses, churches and pottery shops. Our itinerary would include the Baluarte Open Zoo, Hidden Garden, Padre Burgos Museum, and Bantay Church.

Our next stop would be Laoag (capital of Ilocos Norte) and we’ll visit places like Patapat Viaduct, Bangui Windmills, Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, Baroque Church of Sta. Maria and of course the town of Pagudpud, which is famous for its white sand beaches. We’ll take two important items with us to make sure we won’t get ourselves sunburn:

Schick. Free your skin.”

Banana Boat Sunscreen Lotion. We’ve got you covered.”

I haven’t tried these two products yet but this Ilocos Trip would certainly be the best time to try these out. I would surely enjoy putting sunscreen lotion to Sef’s back.

This trip would probably take 3 days for us to enjoy all these historic places. Most probably we’ll take this trip after the Holy Week (April 2-8, 2012). We’ll take a Farinas bus to Vigan and we’ll leave around 10PM. The estimated time of travel is 8 hours so we’ll probably be in Vigan the next day.

More details of the trip would probably be discussed in the next posts but hopefully this plan would push through. This Ilocos Trip would definitely be our ideal Nuffnang summer!

Thank You Nuffnang!

IMG_2764

Last night, Sef and I attended Nuffnang’s 5th Birthday celebration held at (the mezzanine of) Borough, The Podium Mall (Ground Floor near BPI). I was one of the 50 bloggers who won the early bird promo of Nuffnang. As a prize, I was invited to the event and I was able to bring along Sef with me. As a bonus, I won in the raffle!

Sef is indeed my lucky charm because I don’t usually won in raffles. So I got a paper bag of goodies including a large notebook, a black shirt, and a large wallet!

We also enjoyed the photo booth by Pose & Print as well as the food and the cupcake. Check out the following pictures of the event.

Again, thank you Nuffnang for the invitation!

View From The Balcony

Sef saw these pictures when we watched the movie “The Vow”. He likes these pictures telling me that these shots were “nice”. Coming from someone who’s taking pictures using a DSLR camera for the past 4 years, I take it as a compliment.

I wish I knew how to enhance these pictures using Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to. Anyway, I hope you guys like these shots.
