Intramuros is the oldest part of modern-day Manila (the capital of the Philippines). It’s sometimes referred to as “Walled City” and is one of the most historical places in the country. Gen. Luna Street is the main road within this historical place.
Since I don’t have enough funds to travel back to Vigan and take pictures, I thought Intramuros would be the best alternative. Indeed, when I entered the historical gate of Intramuros (for the second time, last Sunday), for a moment, I felt that I went back in time. At least, the city government of Manila is doing it’s best to re-construct what used to be Intramuros (I believed it was totally devastated during World War II).
Gen. Luna street is also the location of several government offices, religious buildings and commercial establishments including:
General Luna’s Monument, just outside the gate of Intramuros
