San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish Chuch, Taytay, Rizal

The neighbor of Brgy Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City to the east is Brgy San Lorenzo Ruiz, Taytay, Rizal. If you’re Catholic and living in Nagpayong area or Kenneth Road, you’ll probably attending mass at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish Church in Taytay, Rizal rather than the one in Pinagbuhatan Kaliwa (San Sebastian Parish Church).

San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish Church is bigger than San Sebastian. I’ve attended a couple of masses at this Catholic Church but I also have no idea on when this was founded. What I know so far is that, this is originally located a few blocks away from the current location. If you’re coming from Kenneth Road or Sandoval Avenue going to the San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish Church, you’ll come across the old location.

Here are some of the pictures I took of this church in 2016.

  1. Just a little trivia...
Im one of the oldest resident.San Lorenzo Ruiz parish church was founded wayback 1992.Named after to saint Lorenzo Ruiz..purok San lorenzo ruiz was first a relocation site for the family came from Brgy.Corazon de jesus San Juan city after Houses demolished year 1981.. Sept.28 1981 the exact date we are relocated to this place.and this is the exact date when Lorenzo Ruiz was Beatified as Saint.. thats why the Place Named as Saint Lorenzo Ruiz.. But the original church is not the one as seen in the picture above.the original church is the chapel behind the big church(in the corner of the community and botica).as years go by,the community keep growing up,and the neighbour barangay also attending the mass, the small chapel can't handle more people.thats why they need to build bigger church for more people who's attending the mass.
    (sorry for my wrong grammar).

    1. I've been attending Mass in SLRP since 2009. My first mass was the traditional Simbang Gabi. When my cousin invited me to join the Simbang Gabi at SLRP a thought came to my mind on how can the church accommodate a lot of people since the church seems "small" and that's when I realized that it was the old church that I saw which you now call as the chapel. Also at that same year the parking area and whole outside part of the church wasn't cemented yet that's why it's very challenging to attend mass if it's raining.
