Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Caysasay

I first heard about Our Lady of Caysasay in my first attendance of the Grand Marian Procession in Intramuros, Manila. I was intrigued by the small statue of the Virgin Mary who’s very famous that it’s included in the annual procession of famous Marian images in the country. It turns out to be located in Taal, Batangas where I travelled last year.

From Poblacion, Taal, I rode a tricycle that took me to the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Caysasay. It’s like a kapilya or chapel with modern design. Inside, you’ll find a fresco (wall painting) of a fisherman who “fish-out” the image of Our Lady in a river. In the main altar, you’ll see that famous small statue. I just don’t know if it’s the original or a replica.

Here are the pictures of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Caysasay.
