Today marks the 9th anniversary of the country’s premiere photography magazine – Digital Photographer Philippines (DPP). It’s celebrated at 9th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig – particularly, the 9th Avenue portion of Bonifacio High Street.
It’s the usual thing – booths by sponsors (like Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony, etc), photography talks, and model shoot. The thing that surprised me today was Panasonic’s boxing ring, Nikon’s street dancers, drone demo, and Sony’s bikers.
Ironically, DPP has no booth – no copies of DPP magazine being sold, past and current issues. Here are the pictures of today’s DPP anniversary.
Participants lined up at the sponsor’s booth for the stamp. Completely stamped “passport” entitles participants to the raffle.
Canon came up with a Selphy promo.
Participants listening to a lecture about drones.
The usual “big guns” from Canon.
“Take a Selphy with me” says the cute guy from Canon. I wonder what his name is.
Nikon said find Darth Vader.
Sony’s action camera on a helmet.
Nikon staff stamping “passports”.
More line up for sponsor’s stamps.
Jay Tablante’s cospaly books for sale.
World of Art Photography (WAP) members take the group shot. I wonder where their club is located.
The boxer at Panasonic’s boxing ring. He’s probably one of the most photographed guy today at DPP9.
Nikon booth with Nikon Club Philippines’ members and participants.
Sony’s camera cleaning booth is the least visited. I wish I was a Sony user – no long lines.

Street dancers (flash mob) c/o Nikon.
Jay Tablante is slimmer this year. He’s at the Canon booth doing cosplay talk.
