The Quiet Town of Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya

Last year, after mapping the towns of Bayombong, Bambang, Solano and Dupax del Sur in Nueva Vizcaya we passed by the quiet town of Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya.

Aritao is a 2nd class municipality and is beside the town of Sta Fe also in Nueva Vizcaya. I think it’s not pronounced Aritaw but Ari-tao, which came from the Isinal phrase Ari Tau (“Our King”). Based on the tarpaulins in the area, the quiet town of Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya recently celebrated its 100th year founding anniversary.

We passed by the Aritao Townhall and Town Plaza, where a monument of Jose Rizal is located. We also passed by the Saint Joseph, Husband of Mary, Parish Church before having lunch at the Aritao Public Market. Then we went on our way back to Manila.

I would love to visit other small and quiet towns of the country.
