My Bacolod and Iloilo Trip

I just came home from a 7-day vacation in Bacolod and Iloilo City. I was with 2 of my photography friends for the MassKara Festival. This was my first out-of-Luzon trip, my first time to ride an airplane (via Cebu Pacific) and my first time to ride a fast craft (Weesam).

During the past 7 days, I was able to do and visit the following:

  • Attend the 33rd MassKara Festival (both the school and barangay category) and 75th Charter Anniversary of the City of Smiles.

  • Attend a photo-shoot organized by the Camera Club of Negros (CCN) at the Bacolod Murcia Milling Co.

  • Took pictures of San Sebastian Cathedral and Lupit Church (Sacred Heart Shrine).

  • Stayed at 2 inns: Regina Carmeli and Pension Bacolod.

  • Ate at Organics

  • Visited the heritage houses of Silay including the Balay Negrense

  • Ate cakes at Calea, Cansi at Sharyn's, Bacolod Chicken Inasal, La Paz Batchoy, etc.

  • Took pictures of the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol and the Lagoon.

  • Visited the Chapel of Cartwheels and a nearby heritage house.

  • Visited the Church of the Angry Christ and Immaculate Conception at Victorias.

  • Took pictures of the Redemptorist Church and Queen of Peace in Bacolod.

  • Attended the Electric MassKara, which is similar to Higantes Festival.

  • Traveled from Iloilo City to Bacolod City and back via Weesam fast craft.

  • Visited 10 churches in the province of Iloilo including the famous Miag-ao Church

  • Had a photo-walk around Iloilo City.

I'll post more information about these events with a lot of pictures. I'll just rest for now.

Real UnliCHAT Experience with Globe’s GoUnli30

For the longest time, I am not using the popular apps like Viber, Kakao Talk, WhatsApp, and Line thinking that these apps are only for Apple iPhones and Android Smartphones. To my delight, I found out that Viber, WhatsApp and Line are also available on BlackBerry. So I downloaded these apps, installed it on my BB and compare these different messaging apps.

Since I have Wi-Fi at home, I can send messages to my friends using these apps. Some of my friends can be reach by Viber while others are using WeChat. The problem is whenever I’m on my way to work (or going home from work), I don’t have any Wi-Fi network to connect to. This is where the latest promo of Globe comes in – the Globe GoUNLI30.

How does Globe GoUNLI30 give me the REAL UNLI chat experience?

Simple – Globe GoUNLI30 is packed with features that would make chatting via messaging apps a lot easier – without breaking a bank. Not to mention that you can enjoy these features even if you’re on the go.

With GoUNLI30, subscribers get unlimited texts to all networks, unlimited calls to Globe/TM, and unlimited chat with the best messaging apps like Viber, Kakao Talk, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, WeChat, Line and the Telco's very own messaging app GMessage without the need for Wi-Fi or additional data charges. Available for only P30 valid for 1 day, GoUNLI30 gives you no excuse to stay out of the loop and connect with more than 1 billion users around the world regardless of mobile network or location.

Go all-out unlimited with GoUNLI30 and UNLICHAT25 now. Register by dialing *143# and then choosing GoSAKTO on your Globe mobile phone or texting GOUNLI30 or UNLICHAT25 to 8888

It’s that simple – and I can chat via Viber, WeChat, Line, or WhatsApp whenever I’m not at home. Globe is really improving everyday – just like how they improved their logo.

Chews 4 Health International

Let me share with you guys a new and easy way to stay healthy. This article was sent to me by a good friend working for Chews 4 Health and it’s very informative.

Very soon, pills, powdered supplements and blended fruit extracts will be a thing of the past. Currently sweeping the U.S. is the highly acclaimed 4th generation nutritional supplement called CHEWS4HEALTH. Doctor-formulated CHEWS is a natural, delicious-tasting chewable food supplement which contains nutrient-rich sources obtained from all over the world: 4 super fruit complex, 4 sea vegetable blends, 4 super anti-oxidants and 4 select fruit concentrates – a very powerful synergy of 16 ingredients, which is equivalent to eating 9 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables daily.

CHEWS is not altered chemically or a genetically modified food. Rather it is an all-natural, certified organic whole food, so it’s alive! CHEWS has the highest content of nature’s phytonutrients, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, polysaccharides, antioxidants. Based on over 100 epidemiological studies, CHEWS is proven to have therapeutic effect on numerous chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and cancer.

The very reason why CHEWS comes in a chewable flat tablet form is because that’s the way food should be taken in. In case you didn’t know, digestion actually begins at the mouth. The moment you put food in your mouth – when you munch, chomp, grind, chew your food – you are breaking down the nutrients, proteins, fats, carbohydrates to enable your body to absorb them easier. Food and drink must be changed into smaller molecules of nutrients before they can be absorbed into the blood and carried to cells throughout the body. Digestion therefore, is the process by which food and drink are broken down into their smallest parts so that the body can use them to build and nourish cells and to provide energy.

The Integrated Biomolecule Corporation, a well-known pharmaceutical lab in the U.S. made numerous testing on the dissolvability of 17 brand names vitamins sold in the market today and found that NONE of those products were considered fully dissolved – within two hours and others still even after 12 hours. In gulping down pills or powdered dietary supplements, the digestion process is taken out and your body will never be able to truly absorb the claimed nutrients as they are not dissolved. X-rays have shown how dietary pills, the so-called “bedpan bullets” swallowed remain stuck in the colon or the intestinal tract. As they say, you are what you absorb. In comparison, oral supplements are about 10% bioavailable, while CHEWS (a sublingual/chewable supplement), is 90% more bioavailable. It also has peak blood level time of only 15 minutes and that is 6x faster than ordinary health supplements with peak blood time of about one and a half hours.

One CHEWS chewable tablet contains all the potent nutrients of : 4 SUPERFOODS – Acai, Goji, Mangosteen, Noni; 4 SEA VEGETABLES BLEND – kelp, nori, dulse, bladderwrack; 4 SUPERANTIOXIDANT MIX – Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA), Resveratrol, folic Acid, Vitamin B12; 4 SELECTFRUIT CONCENTRATES – Raspberry, cranberry, blueberry and pomegranate. Once CHEWS is dissolved under your tongue, it directly enters your bloodstream via capillaries that are under your tongue, bypassing digestion. This results in a faster delivery of the absorbed supplement and because CHEWS supplement is taken via the sublingual route it remains in contact with the mucous membranes for a longer time, the absorption of the powerful nutrients are increased.

CHEWS 4 HEALTH was established in July 4, 2008 by its founder and formulator the renowned Dr. David Friedman. Its headquarters and 15,000 SF facility is located in Wilmington, North Carolina, USA.

CHEWS 4 HEALTH is rated “A” by the National Nutritional Foods Association (NNFA) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). For more information, call CHEWS hotline.

FPPF 26th Anniversary & Reunion

The Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation (FPPF) will have it’s 26th Anniversary Celebration (and Reunion) on October 26, 2013 at the Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila. It would be a whole day of fun, contest, photo-shoot, camaraderie and bonding between the different photography clubs affiliated with the FPPF.

This would be my 2nd time to attend the anniversary of the FPPF and I definitely enjoyed the first time I attended. I’m pretty sure that this would be a very worthwhile event.

A Worry-Free Day With Sharks & Rays

I was very fortunate to be part of the “A Special Intimate Encounter With Sharks & Rays” last October 5, 2013 at the Manila Ocean Park. It was also my first time at this famous aquatic resort facility. It was indeed a heart-warming experience to be able to see kids with special needs enjoy a worry-free day.

The program started with a prayer/song by Joshua and Jerome – two visually-impaired kids. It was followed by opening remarks by Francis Low, EVP of Manila Ocean Park, Agnes Lapena (PWD Team Leader), Alan Chng, President of Canon Philippines, and Armi Cortes, Vice President for Marketing.

This worry-free day for kids with special needs, their family and friends is part of the activities of Photography With a Difference (PWD) which was founded by Canon Ambassador John Chua. Beneficiaries of the PWD include kids supported by organizations like Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines, Inc., Autism Society Philippines, Parent Advocates For Visually Impaired Children (PAVIC), among others.

Kids enjoyed their encounter with the Sting Rays and the 2 Sharks. Guest celebrities were Ara Mina, who has a sister with Down Syndrome, and Patrick Meneses. After the encounter with the Sting Rays, the kids were given free access to the Oceanarium. It was indeed a worry-free day for the kids and their parents. A day that they will surely treasure for the rest of their lives.

This event was made possible by Canon Marketing Philippines, the Canon Advocacy Team (A-Team), Photography With a Difference, and Manila Ocean Park.
