Widening of C6 Road

It’s been a while since we visited the Napindan Bridge in C6 Road, Taguig City. There are a lot of constructions going around the Napindan Bridge. The former marsh land was reclaimed and I have no idea what will be constructed there.

I also noticed that C6 Road, Taguig is being widened. Two lanes are being added and I guess it will go passed the Napindan Bridge up to Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City probably all the way up to Taytay, Rizal. This is great news especially for those travelling from Taguig City to Taytay, Rizal. I sure hope the contractor will finish this project in December 3, 2016 as posted.

Napindan, Taguig in One Year

It was May 2013 that I met my fellow photographer from Nagpayong, Gilbert Obal. It was also my first time to take pictures of this area in Napindan, Taguig City near the Napindan Bridge. It was a very scenic place for me and a lot of residents from Napindan, Taguig and Nagpayong, Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City. It’s just across the river from the Pinagbuhatan Ferry Station.

It’s been a complete one year that I was able to take pictures of this place and saw the yearly transformation of the place from being a playground in summer and a swamp in the rainy season. Now that PAG-ASA officially declared that the rainy season has begun, I’ll once again see the transformation of the place.

It’s been an awesome one year, taking pictures of the place and the people who find refuge in this place amidst the busy city life of Pasig and Taguig. I’m sure Gilbert and I will witness another year of transformation of this piece of paradise.

My New Portrait Lens

Yesterday, I bought a new lens for my Canon ESO 1100D camera – the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II. This is a lens used primarily for taking glamor and portrait shots because it gives the best Bokeh effect on photos. For P4,500 I was able to purchase this lens at Camera Haus SM Megamall. I know, I should have bought it from Hidalgo instead but considering the convenience, I purchased it instead at this store. I also purchased my Canon EOS 1100D camera from the same branch of Camera Haus in Megamall almost 2 years ago.

I’m gearing towards street photography and portraiture. My street photographer friend Gilbert Obal is using the same lens and I admire his works. He also mentioned that the 50mm lens is a must-have for street photographers.

The widest aperture that the EF 50mm lens could give is f/1.8 and it also has the usual f/5.6 setting. It also has a Manual Focus (MF) and Auto-Focus (AF) feature. The downside to this lens is the absence of the zoom function. I have to adjust my distance by moving towards (or away) from my subject.

I was able to test the quality of this lens yesterday as well at the Napindan Bridge. That place has a flea market and is also popular site for kite flyers, joggers, bikers, vendors and motorcycle enthusiasts as well. It’s the perfect place for street photography portraits. Check out the pictures I’ve took yesterday using my new Canon EF 50mm lens.
