“Kiss You” by One Direction

One Direction’s newest MTV “Kiss You” is out now! Right now it has 301 views but I’m sure in a span of few days, it would reach millions. “Kiss You” is from their second album “Take Me Home”.

Check out their latest MTV “Kiss You”.

Abra – Gayuma

abra

I first saw the rapper Abra on YouTube even before the popularity of Boy Pickup and the Pickup Lines. You might have saw or heard about it – FlipTop – the First Filipino Rap Battle League. I guess it was his rap battle with Zaito that I saw. I immediately like him because he’s gorgeous and definitely has talent.

Cute and talented rapper Abra

Fast forward today. My Ragnarok friend posted an MTV – and it’s from Abra! The title of the song is “Gayuma” (love potion) and it’s definitely a good one! The lyrics/story is highly-popular and he definitely has the voice and charisma. To date, it already has 2,123,569 views.

Without further ado, here’s the talented (and cute) Abra singing “Gayuma”.

Great MTV! Congrats Abra!

The video tells it all. The song Live While We’re Young is taken from One Direction’s second album entitled Take Me Home. I love the youthful and vibrant atmosphere that One Direction is giving.

Let’s Help Derek Find His New Anna

You probably have seen the video of Derek before. He’s the cute boy who made a video for the girl of his dream named Anna Banana. He made a follow-up video thanking his viewers for the 1,503,826 hits of his video.

Cute boy Derek singing for Anna Banana

Finally, Anna Banana made a reply to Derek’s video but it’s not what we’re expecting it. As much as we wanted to have a happy ending for Derek and Anna Banana, we find her a bit – mean. Watch her reply to Derek:

The mean girl Anna Banana

See? She’s really mean. To think that Derek is cute – choosy pa s’ya? (she’s too picky). To make matters worst for Derek, his dad, mom and little sister saw Anna Banana’s rejection video.

mydsl-promo-print-ad-8-29-121

Good thing Derek has a very supportive family (just like most Filipinos) that will do anything to help him overcome his heartache. They actually have an excellent idea – they setup a website to help Derek look for his new Anna.

The strongest connection are indeed at home

So dear readers, if you’re prettier than Anna Banana with a big heart (just like Derek’s family), why not make a video telling Derek why you should be his new Anna? Sounds fan right? Or you probably know a girl that’s perfect for Derek who’s not as mean as Anna Banana. My blog is actually accepting referrals! You may also visit the website that Derek’s family setup for his search for The New Anna at this website: www.dereksnewanna.com

Even telecom company PLDT is also helping Derek with his new quest. They’re actually giving away a Samsung Ultrabook and the chance to be part of the next PLDT myDSL commercial to the lucky girl. Interested (and qualified) girls out there simply need to submit a video entry on why they should be Derek’s new Anna!

I really wanted to help cute boy Derek find the right girl for him. Sounds like a noble thing to do. I hope this blog would be Derek’s way of finding the perfect Anna for him. Start referring your girl friends to Derek!

I Stumbled Upon Luke Niccoli

While I was surfing the net and blogs that I frequently visit, another window of Firefox opened and it went to a YouTube page. Guess what. I find the music very beautiful and I find the artist cute.

Let’s all meet Luke Niccoli. I’ll try to Google more info about him. For now, let’s watch his MTV for the song “You Don’t Make It Easy”.

Homecoming

I saw this video today and it made me cry a bit. Photographer Ian Felix Alquiros posted this on his Facebook page and it reminded me of the video made by Get Up!

I just wish that gay marriage would be allowed in the Philippines in my lifetime.

This video by the way, is made for the introduction of same-sex marriage in the United Kingdom. Kudos to the Coalition For Equal Marriage.

John Lloyd Cruz for Biogesic (Videos)

It’s better late than never. I took these videos using my Canon EOS 1100D during the Thanksgiving Lunch that John Lloyd Cruz and Biogesic prepared for us. My gratitude to Nuffnang Philippines for inviting me to this event.

The original format of the video (straight from the DSLR) was a QuickTime Movie type which are 388 MB and 405 MB respectively. I used Any Video Converter Professional to convert these files to MPEGII format which significantly reduced the size of the videos to 24 MB and 25 MB. I then uploaded these videos on YouTube, added these to my Favorites list before attaching it via Windows Live Writer.

I don’t have a tripod when I took these pictures but you can see and hear the quality of the video. I love my Canon EOS 1100D because it can also took videos.

Here’s another one.

One Direction – What Makes You Beautiful

I’ve seen the pictures of boyband One Direction before. I admit that they all look gorgeous. Earlier, I saw they’re latest picture from Just Jared and yup, they are indeed gorgeous. So I got curious and searched their MTV on YouTube. I saw this song “What Makes You Beautiful” and for some reason, they reminded me of Westlife and the MTV of the song “If I Let You Go”. Weird.

Anyway, I immediately like this boyband with this carrier single. I’m downloading their album right now and will be listening to their other songs. I now have a new LSS -- “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction.

“Beauty and the Beast” Tagalog Version

Finally, I’m done uploading the videos of the Pasig City Christmas Presentation 2011. It’s the Tagalog version of “Beauty and the Beast”.

I used my Canon EOS 1100D on this video. I was surprised that the original videos are 1.1 GB, 949 MB and 371 MB in size. I can’t verify what type of video format was used by the camera but the default description was QuickTime Movie.

I then converted these files into MPEG 2 format using Any Video Converter. The sizes were trimmed down to 72 MB, 59 MB and 23 MB respectively. I then uploaded these videos on YouTube. I hope you enjoy these videos guys! It’s my first ever video using my Canon EOS 1100D DSLR.

K-I-S-S-I-N-G

It’s my latest Last Song Syndrome (LSS) – the theme song of Selecta Cornetto’s TV commercial. The song’s title is Hey Daydreamer and its famous chorus includes the spell out of K-I-S-S-I-N-G.

Here’s the complete MTV of the song as performed by band Somedaydream.

Get Up! It’s Time

I first saw this video from Boys in Pixels. It was one of the best video I’ve ever seen that promotes equality when it comes to gay marriage. The video tells the story of two guys meeting at a cruise ship and started a relationship that eventually led to a marriage proposal.

The story is from the point of view of one of the guys. He’s taking picture of the whole thing – from their first meeting, to a date, argument, meeting the parents, until the proposal. At the end of the video, the guy taking the recording was revealed. It was a fantastic video. It has everything that a gay guy like me would love in a relationship.

The organization responsible for the video is Get Up! Here’s a brief description of this movement/organization from their official website:

GetUp is an independent, grass-roots community advocacy organisation giving everyday Australians opportunities to get involved and hold politicians accountable on important issues.

GetUp members are committed to fairness, sustainability and social justice. Whether it is sending an email to a member of parliament, engaging with the media, attending an event or helping to get a television ad on the air, GetUp members take targeted, coordinated and strategic action.
GetUp members make a difference.

GetUp does not back any particular party, but aims to build an accountable and progressive Australia - an Australia with economic fairness, social justice and environmental sustainability at its core.

GetUp is a not-for-profit and receives no money from any political party or the government. We welcome donations as we rely solely on funds and in-kind donations from the Australian public.

I’ve always thought that Australia’s constitution already accepts same-sex marriage. I’ve read Wikipedia and learned that not all the states/provinces of Australia accept same-sex marriage. To quote Wikipedia:

Australia bans recognition of same-sex marriages. The ban is somewhat supported by the Catholic Church and the two largest political parties. The current Gillard federal Labor Party government is reluctant to progress toward same sex marriage asserting that marriage remains the preserve of heterosexual couples only. In February 2010, the Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young's Marriage Equality Bill was rejected by the Senate. Senator Hanson-Young re-introduced the bill to the Senate in September 2010. The bill will sit on a notice paper until the major parties agree to a conscience vote on it. A Greens motion urging federal MPs to gauge community support for gay marriage was passed by the House of Representatives on 18 November 2010.

The Australian Capital Territory is the first jurisdiction in Australia to legalise civil partnerships ceremonies for gay couples. However, they are not recognised in Australian jurisdictions outside of that territory. Registered partnerships are available in New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria. From 1 July 2009 Centrelink recognised same-sex couples equally regarding social security – under the common-law marriage, de facto status or unregistered cohabitation. There is a bill before the Tasmanian Legislative Council to recognise same-sex marriages performed in other jurisdictions.

I’m not surprised that it’s the Catholic Church who opposes gay marriage. It would do everything to retain its tradition and customs. I’m just surprised that Australia has a large Catholic population that it influences the government’s decision. I’ve always thought that Australia is similar to the US when it comes to religious freedom.

Anyway, going back to the topic of gay marriage, I could imagine how long it would take before same-sex marriage would be recognized here in the Philippines. It probably won’t happen in my lifetime. If Australia is still debating on the subject, in spite of the fact that Australians in general accepts same-sex marriage (in different polls conducted), how much more here in the Philippines?
