Play Ragnarok Online On Your Mobile Phone

“1,000 years ago…

After an exhausting 100 year war with the Demons, the humans of Midgard forged a fragile truce with the scourge of the Underworld.

Valkyrie Randgris threatened the human world using a powerful item stolen from the Underworld, the Cursed stone. Monica from the Celestial Land of Valhalla, defeated Randgris and was able to seal her away, never to be seen again.

Today…

A mysterious woman has broken the seal, but in the process disappeared. Once again the dark powers of Randgris and her Cursed Stone are free to terrorize the human world again.”

Valkyrie Uprising

Ragnarok: Valkyrie Uprising is an upcoming mobile game based on the highly successful PC game Ragnarok Online. It will be available for Apple and Android mobile phones on March 21, 2013.

Over the years, the fun of playing Ragnarok Online never changed. It’s only the media on which Ragnarok Online is played that changed. From the PC version, it evolved into a Nintendo DS game called Ragnarok DS. Then, Ragnarok Tactics was released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). It was followed by Ragnarok Odyssey for the PlayStation Vita. Now we have Ragnarok: Valkyrie Uprising for mobile phones.

The features of Ragnarok: Valkyrie Uprising that appeared on Warp Portal website includes:

  • Multiplayer Function
  • Social Features including Trading and Party Play (for Raids and PvP)
  • Ranking System (Player versus Player a.k.a. PvP)
  • Classic Ragnarok Online look (which I’m guessing doesn’t include the third jobs)

The only question is: Will it be available in the Philippines? Most probably it would. Warp Portal hosts the server for International Ragnarok Online (iRO) and there are a lot of Filipino players who are playing in that server from the Philippines. I’ve tried playing in the iRO server once but due to lag, I didn’t continue playing there.

Since Warp Portal mentioned that it would be available for iOS and Android, then it would work for Tablets as well. However, Warp Portal didn’t mentioned what particular flavor (version) of Android it would run to. They’ll probably announce the details of this mobile game soon on their Facebook page.

Unfortunately I don’t have a mobile phone that runs on either iOS or Android. I’m using BlackBerry 8250. If everything goes well during the launch of Ragnarok: Valkyrie Uprising on March 21, 2013 I’ll probably buy an Android phone.
