This is the largest mall in Baguio City and one of the most visited places in this part of Benguet. It’s most prominent feature is the tent-like roofing (white fabric) at the middle part of the mall. This allows natural light to illuminate the interior of the mall since the circular atrium is also located on the middle.
Aside from natural lighting, SM City Baguio doesn’t use air-conditioning. It uses Baguio’s natural cold climate. SM City Baguio also has a lot of viewing decks. All levels of the mall have it. It also has an amazing view of Burnham Park and Session Road including the Baguio Cathedral and the University of the Cordilleras.
SM City Baguio is memorable for me because I watched 3 movies here in June 2004. I was with my good friend Aerous and we watched “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”, “Van Helsing” and “The Day After Tomorrow” in the 3 days that I spend there.
This year, during the recent Panagbenga Festival, the only memorable thing I did at SM City Baguio was to watch and photographed the sunset. It’s a lively sight. Also, there was a photo booth at this mall last February 26, 2012 and I have a great time with it. It was organized by SM Youth.
